SafeFoodCheck is an independent information service that turns official FDA food enforcement data into a faster, easier consumer search. It is not a government agency and does not certify that food is safe.

Current coverage

The current index includes FDA food enforcement records normalized by the private FoodSickness.us refresh system. It does not currently include USDA FSIS recalls because that source is unavailable to the automated importer. UPC coverage is incomplete because many official records do not provide a UPC.

Freshness and limitations

Data is checked daily and published only after validation. A new recall may not yet appear. Always compare package, lot and product identifiers and follow official instructions.
